The Opera House speaks...
Cork Opera House e-mailed out their line up to and including the panto.
Some interesting things are...
Tommy Tiernan's gigs on November Friday 12 & Saturday 13 at 8pm, these ones are sold out but there's more. Extra dates on November Friday 12 & Saturday 13 at 11.30pm, December Wednesday 15 & Thursday 16 at 8pm. Get them while you still can. Tickets: €25
Their Panto this year is The Pied Piper. Script by Alan Shortt (Bull Island) and directed by Bryan Flynn.
Tickets: €16, €19, €22. Previews €14, €17, €20 plus €2 booking fee
It opens on December 1, and I'm not saying anything more about it.
With all the rats around, what about a little Lambchop?
Lambchop in Concert are at 8pm on Thursday December 2nd. Tickets: €25.
And after the meal, how about a little cheese?
ABBA the Show Sunday 5 December at 8pm. Tickets: €23. I don't think much of it, but let's face it. It's fun.
Something far more serious is Rubyhorse.
Yes the Ballincollig boys are back in town. Thursday December 9 (at 8pm) sees Rubyhorse return to their fold. Tickets: €20
A little quieter are Ladysmith Black Mombaza who pop in on Sunday 12 December at 8pm. Tickets: €33.50. (and possibly not worth it. I mean they are stunning live but...)
Personally I'm not that fond of Josh Ritter who shows up on Monday 13 December. I've tried, but sorry, he's just not me.
Finishing on comedy again. Des Bishop sells the place out on Friday December 17. But there are extra dates with tickets (€20) available, namely Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December at 8pm.
Should keep you busy for a while.
Will
